Our Mission...

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)

Our mission statement is simple, direct, and biblical: The Creekside church exists to make disciples of Jesus.

This is the mission given us by Jesus. We are to make disciples of Jesus by baptizing and teaching. This is the only reason we should exist as a church. Thus, this is the only reason we will exist as a church. In obedience to Jesus, the elders have set our direction: Everything Creekside does will be to serve one purpose: to make disciples of Jesus.

We are not there yet, but we can and will get there with God's help!

The leadership has also defined a seven-part vision for Creekside that further defines how we will fulfill our mission.

Our Vision...

bullet

A church successfully reaching lost people with the gospel of Jesus

We want to grow as the first church grew in Jerusalem, and we want to do so by reaching lost people with the gospel (Acts 2:41; 4:4; 6:7).

Some of the ministries we are using and will use to accomplish this are:

  • Dynamic Worship Assemblies

  • Exciting Youth & Children's Programs

  • Creekside Carnival

  • Preschool

bullet

A church affecting the continued spiritual growth of its members

When Jesus commanded us to make disciples, he told us to baptize and teach. Successfully reaching lost people with the gospel fulfills the command to baptize. Affecting the continued spiritual growth of our members fulfills the command to teach.

There are four primary ways we encourage our members to grow spiritually:

  • The preaching ministry

  • The teaching ministry of our Bible classes

  • The teaching and fellowship ministry of our Life Groups

  • The involvement of our members in areas of service

bullet

A church healing the hurts of our community

The best way to heal the hurts of people is to bring them to Jesus in the context of a loving and forgiving community of faith. In this way, we want to make hope and healing available to all.

bullet

A church bound by God's word and God's word only in all it does

This means we take the Bible as our authority for all we do, both in what we teach and in what we practice.

This also means that we take only the Bible as our authority. We will not be bound by tradition in our efforts to make disciples of Jesus.

bullet

A church magnifying God with dynamic and expressive worship

Creekside will be a church where people are free to give God the worship of their hearts. Whether expressing praise with clapping and uplifted hands, or with joyful hearts alone, we want all to be comfortable. With that freedom and comfort, our assemblies will be dynamic expressions of praise to God.

bullet

A church filled with a diverse membership loving one another and serving God with many different gifts

In Jesus Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female (Galatians 3:28). Also in Jesus, we have different gifts, according to the grace given us (Romans 12:6).

At Creekside we will accept all people, regardless of their income, education, ethnicity, or gender. We will also allow all people to use their gifts in service to God.

bullet

A church ever growing in numbers and maturing to the glory of God

Only when this church is growing and maturing continually will we be fully obedient to our mission to make disciples of Jesus!
